New Peacock Dad Commercial Featuring Actor Scott Watson
Commercial actor Scott Watson stars in new peacock commercial
about Dads and daughters.
Shooting this new Peacock commercial was such a nostalgic treat for so many reasons!
We shot the commercial in the exact same house where the famous “Schmitts Gay” SNL parody beer commercial starring Chris Farley and Adam Sandler was filmed, I could even see the pool from the window behind us!
This Peacock commercial is also all about nostagia for the film classics of the 80’s and 90’s, films that I personally grew up on, and a time in cinema where directors such as Stephen Speilberg and movies such as Back To The Future were aimed squarely at kids, both literal kids of the time and the inner child inside all of us.
As a millennial, it’s been facinating to see the cultural window shift as I’ve gotten older and now pop culture references that I would have assumed would have been ubiqitous even five years ago now sometimes are met with blank stares by members of Gen Z or Gen Alpha.
I was first shocked and dismayed by this, but then I realized it was a chance for me to show the younger generations the movies that changed my life for the first time, and how I actually envied them, wishing I could go back and watch Jurassic Park in the theatre as a seven year old for the first time all over again.
And while many movies of my childhood are classics that stand the test of time, it’s also important to not always look back but to look forward as well, to ask Gen Z and Gen Alpha what their favorite movies are, what films changed their lives. Because as us Millenials get older and the window of popular culture shifts away from our youth, it’s important to remember we have as much to learn about the world from those younger than us as they have from us.
This new Peacock Streaming Commercial was expertly directed by Brett DiPretoro and produced by [cause+effect].
Huge thanks to Stacy Gallo Casting for giving me the opportunity to appear in this spot, and for being one the kindest and most generous casting offices out there.
Enormous thanks also to my rockstar agent, Gina Manfredi at DDO, who is the best agent, person, and team partner anyone could ever ask for.
